Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu aikido and forced combat strategy. Rather than racing opponents to an early win, the deck builds a defensive pillowfort using cards like Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Authority of the Consuls, while introducing the monarch mechanic to ensure continuous card velocity. It weaponizes opponents' aggression through goad engines such as Kardur, Doomscourge, Disrupt Decorum, and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, forcing players to whittle down each other's life totals. When opposing players attempt a decisive swing, instant-speed aikido spells like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance turn their lethal attacks back against them. The deck finishes games by cleaning up weakened survivors with flying token swarms or damage multipliers such as Gisela, Blade of Goldnight.
