Deck overview

This Azorius deck is built around Hylda of the Icy Crown, converting classic freeze and tap mechanics into an aggressive board presence and massive card advantage engine. By running a dense package of low-mana tap spells, triggered tappers, and freeze auras, the deck controls opposing combat steps while triggering Hylda's ability for {1} mana to produce 4/4 Elemental tokens, distribute team-wide +1/+1 counters, or scry and draw cards. The deck ramps efficiently in the early turns, establishes Hylda with open mana on Turn 4, and escalates into a lethal board around Turn 6 using mass tap effects like Junk Winder, Sleep, and Cone of Cold. Opponents find their blockers neutralized and attackers locked under stun counters, opening clear attack lanes. When Hylda is unavailable, the partner pairing of Rhoda, Geist Avenger and Timin, Youthful Geist provides a robust secondary win condition.
