Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Sheoldred, the Apocalypse as both an asymmetric life-drain engine and a defensive life buffer. The strategy accelerates through early mana rocks and rituals to cast Sheoldred ahead of curve on Turn 3 or 4. Once established, the deck deploys symmetric draw effects like Teferi's Puzzle Box, Dark Deal, and Memory Jar, weaponizing opposing draw steps to deal lethal damage across 2 table rotations. A dense tutor suite provides direct access to silver-bullet interaction, board wipes, and compact two-card infinite combos like Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Proactive disruption pieces like Opposition Agent and Dauthi Voidwalker strip opponents of tutoring and graveyard resources while breaking parity on board development.
