Deck overview

This Gruul Midrange deck is commanded by Kibo, Uktabi Prince, aiming to win through aggressive combat damage fueled by +1/+1 counter growth and artifact destruction. The deck distributes Banana artifact tokens to all players, then capitalizes when opponents sacrifice them for mana or when symmetric and targeted artifact removal spells destroy them. Each artifact entering an opponent's graveyard places +1/+1 counters on all friendly Apes and Monkeys. Supported by counter multipliers like Branching Evolution and Hardened Scales, Kibo and fellow primates rapidly grow into massive threats. Trample enablers such as Garruk's Uprising and Kessig Wolf Run ensure combat damage pushes through blockers. The deck also punishes artifact usage directly using Pain Distributor, Vengeful Tracker, and Sardian Avenger. While heavily favored against artifact-centric strategies, the deck is vulnerable to creature sweepers and relies heavily on combat steps to close games.
