Format: Commander

Commander: Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck utilizes a Grixis control shell centered on the Amass mechanic, steadily constructing a massive Zombie or Orc Army token while suffocating opponents with discard and board control. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager provides early hand disruption and a flying threat before transforming into a planeswalker engine that generates card advantage, removal, and reanimation. The primary path to victory involves granting the massive Army evasion through lords like Eternal Skylord and Gleaming Overseer to punch through blockers. Late-game finishers such as Bolas's Citadel, Command the Dreadhorde, and Torment of Hailfire close the game by overwhelming remaining life totals.
