Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Rendmaw, Creaking Nest, focusing on a unique goad and aristocrat strategy fueled by multi-type cards. By casting artifact creatures, enchantment creatures, kindred spells, and artifact lands, the deck triggers Rendmaw repeatedly to generate 2/2 flying Bird tokens for every player. Because these tokens are permanently goaded, opponents are forced to attack one another each combat, preserving your life total while whittling down the table. The deck capitalizes on this mutual carnage through death-trigger draw engines like Species Specialist and Deathreap Ritual, while turning the bird swarm lethal with Coat of Arms or asymmetric blowouts like Massacre Wurm and The Meathook Massacre. Supported by efficient Golgari interaction and recursion, the deck maintains consistent pressure from Turn 5 onward.
