Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Tetsuo, Imperial Champion, combining Grixis Equipment Voltron with high-tempo combat spellslinging. The primary game plan accelerates mana through low-cost artifact ramp on Turns 1 and 2 to cast Tetsuo on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck attaches impactful Equipment, triggering Tetsuo on attack to either deal direct burn equal to the highest attached mana value or cast instants and sorceries for free. By Turn 5, Tetsuo pairs with high-cost Equipment like Excalibur, Sword of Eden (mana value 12) or The Reaver Cleaver to cheat game-ending spells like Chandra's Ignition or chain combat steps with Seize the Day and Aggravated Assault. Searchable defensive Equipment such as Champion's Helm, Hammer of Nazahn, and Conqueror's Flail shields Tetsuo from interaction during combat, allowing the deck to rapidly eliminate opponents with commander damage and burn.
