Deck overview

This deck is a high-impact Boros Voltron and Equipment strategy centered on Lightning, Army of One. Lightning's Stagger ability creates a devastating damage-doubling trigger upon dealing combat damage to a player. By pairing Lightning with double strike enablers like Fireshrieker, Battle Mastery, or Hard-Won Jitte, the first-strike damage immediately triggers Stagger, causing the subsequent regular combat damage to deal double damage. Combined with massive stat boosts such as Colossus Hammer or Sting, Bilbo's Sword, Lightning can reliably eliminate opponents in a single swing with over 21 commander damage. The deck backs up this aggressive clock with extra combat engines including Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Akki Battle Squad, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum, allowing multiple eliminations in rapid succession. A robust tutor suite ensures consistent access to key equipment, while a dense suite of instant-speed protection spells safeguards the board against opposing disruption.
