Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines Aristocrats sacrifice mechanics, graveyard reanimation, and recurring attrition under Avacyn, Angel of Horror. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana using cost-reducers like Heartless Summoning and Bontu's Monument while establishing sacrifice outlets such as Ashnod's Altar and Warren Soultrader. It deploys drain pieces like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance alongside draw engines like Morbid Opportunist and Skullclamp. Once Avacyn, Angel of Horror enters the battlefield on Turn 6, any nontoken creature that dies returns at the beginning of the next end step. Looping edict and discard creatures such as Fleshbag Marauder and Virus Beetle continuously strips opposing creatures and hands while triggering widespread life drain. Backup paths utilize heavy reanimation targets like Archon of Cruelty, explosive big mana through Cabal Coffers into Exsanguinate, or high-output mill damage with Syr Konrad, the Grim to secure victory.
