Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on The Gitrog Monster, leveraging a classic dredge-combo engine alongside a powerful lands-matter midrange shell. The primary game plan accelerates mana through low-cost land exploration spells and mana dorks to deploy Gitrog ahead of curve. Once the commander is active alongside a free discard outlet like Noose Constrictor or Wild Mongrel and Dakmor Salvage, the deck initiates a loop that dredges through the library, reshuffling with Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Gaea's Blessing. This loop draws the library, generates arbitrary mana with ritual recursion, and finishes the game on the spot with a massive Torment of Hailfire. If the combo is interrupted, the deck seamlessly pivots to a resilient value engine, using Crucible of Worlds, Six, Worm Harvest, and heavy hitters like Cultivator Colossus and Blightsteel Colossus to overwhelm opponents with combat damage and resource attrition.
