Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an Aristocrats combo engine led by Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. The strategy centers on exploiting persist creatures such as Putrid Goblin and Lesser Masticore alongside free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Bloodthrone Vampire. Whenever a persist creature is sacrificed, Mazirek places a +1/+1 counter on all friendly creatures, neutralizing the -1/-1 persist counter and enabling an infinite loop. This generates arbitrarily large power across the entire board, infinite mana through Basking Broodscale, and instant lethal damage when paired with drain creatures like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. The list also features a standalone backup combo in Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak, which creates infinite Squirrel tokens independently of the commander. With dense redundancy across all core combo roles, the deck consistently presents game-ending pressure by Turn 5 while leveraging minor sacrifice attrition to disrupt opposing boards.
