Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group-slug attrition build led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying low-cost punisher cards like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Underworld Dreams that reliably deal damage to opponents during their own turns. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 4, each opponent-turn damage instance triggers Valgavoth, growing the Demon with +1/+1 counters while drawing up to three additional cards every turn cycle. This rapid card replenishment fuels continuous pressure, feeding into asymmetric sweepers like Blasphemous Act and burst damage finishers like Chandra's Ignition or Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The deck heavily taxes opposing resources by shutting down lifegain, penalizing card draw, and punishing activated abilities. While vulnerable to board wipes and lacking stack interaction, the dense redundancy of group-slug pieces allows it to grind down opponents swiftly.
