Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Spellslinger and tribal strategy commanded by Lord of the Nazgûl. It leverages a low-curve suite of cheap cantrips, free interaction, and Ring-tempting spells to rapidly flood the board with evasive 3/3 menace Wraith tokens. The inclusion of nine copies of Nazgûl creates compounding counters across the entire army whenever the Ring tempts you. The deck accelerates into its commander on turn four, begins token production immediately, and rapidly scales its board size by turns five and six. It protects this engine with premier counterspells like Fierce Guardianship and Mana Drain. Once nine Wraiths are assembled, the commander grants an overrun effect turning them into 9/9 threats, while asymmetric cards like Raise the Palisade clear opposing defenses. The deck closes games around turn eight through decisive combat damage across two combat cycles.
