Commander: Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients is a Gruul dice/Enrage dragon engine. The commander wants to take damage itself; every die roll can ping it for 1 and spit out 5/4 Dragon Spirit tokens. The deck pairs this with Dragon synergies and pinging enchantments. Its primary plan is to assemble the Vrondiss plus Scourge of Valkas loop, which creates an endless series of Dragon tokens and lets Scourge's triggers deal lethal damage to all opponents. Secondary lines use Atarka, World Render, Terror of Mount Velus, and Gratuitous Violence to win through double-striking dragon combat. The deck has 39 lands, a moderate ramp package, and two cost reducers, but no tutors, so the combo is powerful yet draw-dependent. Vrondiss is the engine, but the deck can still fight through dragon beatdown if the commander is unavailable.
