Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats combo list led by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. The primary strategy focuses on assembling infinite recursion loops between Mikaeus and non-Human creatures. Because Mikaeus grants undying to other non-Humans, pairing him with persist creatures like Putrid Goblin or Lesser Masticore creates an infinite sacrifice loop where +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters neutralize each other. Paired with a free sacrifice outlet such as Altar of Dementia or Viscera Seer and a drain payoff like Blood Artist, the deck drains or mills the entire table. Alternatively, Mikaeus forms a single-piece win condition with Triskelion, pinging opponents and itself repeatedly for infinite instant-speed damage. Robust mono-black tutors like Buried Alive, Demonic Tutor, and Diabolic Intent ensure consistent access, while reanimation spells provide fast deployment and resilience. Secondary combos including Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose give the deck strong commander-independent redundancy.
