Deck overview

Led by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, this Izzet spellslinger deck transforms minor 1-damage pings into lethal 3-damage bursts. The game plan focuses on deploying low-cost pingers such as Thermo-Alchemist and Firebrand Archer, then casting cheap asymmetric burn spells like End the Festivities and Electrickery to wipe opposing boards while burning all three opponents simultaneously. Card draw engines like Curiosity and Rhystic Study sustain rapid spellcasting, while asymmetric tax cards including Manabarbs and Caltrops heavily punish opponents for casting spells, tapping lands, or attacking. High-impact permanents like Repercussion amplify sweeper damage into immediate player knockouts, and the two-card combo of Niv-Mizzet, Parun with Curiosity provides a decisive alternate win condition. The deck excels at dominating creature-centric tables through continuous board wipes and accelerated life total attrition, closing games around Turn 7 while defending its commander with innate Ward protection and efficient countermagic.
