Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius 'toughness-matters' combat and blink strategy led by Plagon, Lord of the Beach. It capitalizes on cheap, high-toughness creatures such as Aegis Turtle, Canyon Crab, and Looming Altisaur, turning low-cost defensive walls into powerful attackers and immense card advantage. When Plagon enters the battlefield, it immediately refills the hand based on the number of high-toughness creatures in play, creating an explosive draw engine that scales with flicker effects like Ghostly Flicker, Momentary Blink, and Ghostway. The deck converts high toughness into lethal combat damage using Plagon's activated ability alongside global enablers like Rasaad yn Bashir and Ghalta the Immovable. It breaks parity on board wipes with Slaughter the Strong and Restricted Office // Lecture Hall, which destroy high-power threats while sparing its own low-power army, closing out games through evasive combat.
