Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Midrange deck led by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, blending lifegain, +1/+1 counter distribution, and graveyard reanimation into a resilient creature-based combat strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient mana dorks on the opening turns, casting Betor on Turn 4, and utilizing lifelink combat swings alongside life-loss mechanics to trigger both halves of Betor's end-step ability. High-synergy powerhouses like Elder Gargaroth, Surrak and Goreclaw, and Bolas's Citadel compound this advantage by accelerating card draw, granting trample, and recurring fallen threats from the graveyard. While the deck lacks stack counterspells, stax locks, and fast combo finishes, it presents sustained aerial and trampling pressure that reliably closes out multiplayer games by Turn 8. Flexible targeted removal spells keep opposing threats in check while redundant stompy beaters ensure that the deck functions seamlessly even if its commander is temporarily removed.
