Demonic evolution by prouscor0

Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black deck uses 29 Shadowborn Apostles to cheat Demons onto the battlefield. You sacrifice six Apostles to put a Demon directly into play, then use Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker to return the 1-power Apostles at the next end step and repeat the loop. The main win is Liliana's Contract, which wins at your upkeep with four different Demons, while large Demons like Razaketh, Vilis, and Archfiend of Despair provide combat and life-loss pressure. Shirei is the recursion engine, not the payoff, and the deck grinds through sacrifice, draw, and Swamp-based mana.
