Hakbal Upgrade by DungeonSnack

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Hakbal leads a Simic Merfolk tribal deck that wins through combat. It floods the board with Merfolk, uses Hakbal's explore at the start of combat to grow +1/+1 counters, filter lands, and draw cards, and pumps the team with lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident. Counter doublers Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution and Loading Zone accelerate the clock, while Aquitect's Will and islandwalk plus Herald of Secret Streams make the team unblockable. A secondary line loops Wanderwine Prophets with Deeproot Pilgrimage for extra turns. Kumena, Tatyova and Kindred Discovery act as hidden engines that keep cards flowing when Hakbal is absent.
