Deck overview

This is an Esper spells-matter control deck built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed's life-drain and card-draw engine. The plan is to resolve 3+ mana noncreature spells - removal, counters, draw, and finishers - each of which drains each opponent for 2 and gains life, while her end-step trigger converts that turn's life loss into cards. The deck pairs a dense instant-speed interaction suite with draw engines like Archmage Emeritus, Alphinaud Leveilleur, Syphon Mind, and Baleful Strix, then amplifies the life gain with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Enduring Tenacity. It wins by attrition, chaining noncreature spells to drain the table, then closing with a large Exsanguinate or a sustained Bolas's Citadel chain. Creature payoffs such as Hermes, Overseer of Elpis, G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn, and Lingering Souls provide a secondary token-combat route.
