Commander: Maelstrom Wanderer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Maelstrom Wanderer is the engine: this deck ramps hard to eight mana, casts the commander, and uses his double cascade to flood the battlefield with hasty threats. The usual path is to turn a wide board of Plants, Eldrazi Spawn, or big creatures into a lethal swing with Craterhoof Behemoth or Avenger of Zendikar. Secondary lines cheat out finishers with Finale of Devastation, Elvish Piper, Monster Manual, and Raph & Mikey, while Etali keeps generating free spells. It is an explosive midrange battlecruiser deck, not a combo deck. Its main vulnerabilities are heavy reliance on Maelstrom Wanderer's cascade and lack of counterspell protection, making it brittle to stack interaction and board wipes.
