Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls is a group-slug commander who turns every opponent's first life loss into card draw and +1/+1 counters. The deck plays global drain pieces such as Seizan, Manabarbs, and damage-on-draw triggers so every turn rotation fills your hand and grows the commander. The primary plan is incremental life loss backed by damage multipliers and a large Chandra's Ignition or Exsanguinate finish. Secondary paths use Blood Artist and Syr Konrad with board wipes, plus monarch pressure from Emberwilde Captain. The Lord of Pain is a powerful lieutenant but not a hidden commander. The deck is resilient to spot removal, but Valgavoth is the main engine and there is no compact combo backup.
