Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition strategy commanded by Zodiark, Umbral God. It establishes early board presence through low-cost mana ramp and recurring token generators such as Bitterblossom, Ophiomancer, and Reassembling Skeleton. The deck leverages sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Ashnod's Altar, and Yahenni, Undying Partisan to feed aristocrat drain pieces like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Marionette Apprentice. When Zodiark, Umbral God enters the battlefield on Turn 5, it halves opposing non-God creature boards while growing into an enormous indestructible attacker. Asymmetric control pieces such as Grave Pact, Pox Plague, and continuous sacrifice triggers keep opposing boards empty. The deck closes the game rapidly across two response cycles via large life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, Syr Konrad, the Grim, or commander damage.
