Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered competitive Temur midrange build headlined by Pako, Arcane Retriever and Haldan, Avid Arcanist. The primary strategy leverages dense 0–1 CMC acceleration to cast an early Pako on Turn 2 or Turn 3. Pako attacks immediately due to haste, generating immense card advantage by exiling noncreature cards and lands from all four libraries while accumulating +1/+1 counters. Haldan, Avid Arcanist then turns that exiled pool into an extended hand. The deck protects its engine using zero-mana interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat. It rapidly closes games by chaining extra-turn sorceries (Time Warp, Capture of Jingzhou, Temporal Manipulation) or assembling an infinite combat loop with Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine. High card quality, resilient backup lines through Underworld Breach, and format-staple interaction allow the deck to outpace fast combo and outvalue midrange pods.
