Commander: Zedruu the Greathearted

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a Zedruu the Greathearted "bad gifts" control strategy that leverages the commander's ability to donate harmful or useless permanents to opponents while drawing cards and gaining life. The primary game plan involves giving away cards like Illusions of Grandeur, Grid Monitor, Steel Golem, and the Jinxed cycle to impose penalties on opponents while accruing value. A secondary "big hand" subtheme includes Psychosis Crawler, Body of Knowledge, and Triskadekaphile as alternate win conditions. The deck also incorporates a stax component with Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Solemnity effects to slow down opponents. Wins are achieved through either draining opponents with Psychosis Crawler, reaching 40 life with Felidar Sovereign, having exactly thirteen cards with Triskadekaphile, or overwhelming with tokens from The Locust God.
