Deck overview

This deck centers on Tergrid, God of Fright to turn symmetrical discard and sacrifice effects into overwhelming asymmetric board advantage. By ramping early through artifacts, rituals, and lands like Phyrexian Tower, it aims to resolve Tergrid on Turn 4. Once Tergrid is established, casting spells like Dark Deal, Delirium Skeins, or Awaken the Erstwhile strips opponents of their hands while placing their discarded permanents directly onto your battlefield. In tandem with enchantments such as Waste Not, Oppression, and Grave Pact, opponents quickly run out of resources while you accumulate substantial mana, card draw, and creatures. If Tergrid is kept off the board, the deck shifts cleanly into a secondary Zombie aristocrats shell powered by Gravecrawler, Warren Soultrader, and Syr Konrad, the Grim to drain life totals directly.
