Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and topdeck-manipulation list commanded by Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. The primary strategy focuses on ramping into Yennett on Turn 4, organizing the top of the library with cards like Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and Brainstorm, and attacking on Turn 5 to cast massive odd-cost spells for free. These payloads include oppressive stax pieces like Void Winnower, board-clearing artifacts like Portal to Phyrexia, and game-ending creatures like Emrakul, the Promised End and Toxrill, the Corrosive. Because even-mana spells such as Blightsteel Colossus or Time Stretch are drawn rather than cast by Yennett, the deck leverages them as secondary hardcast or auxiliary payoffs. Supported by a robust interaction suite of cheap removal and countermagic, the deck controls the game state while eliminating opponents through high-powered combat over several turns.
