Deck overview

Niko, Light of Hope heads an Azorius blink-and-copy midrange deck that turns Shard tokens into a flexible army. Niko's ETB makes two Shards; a dense flicker suite then rebuys that trigger while his activated ability exiles a nonlegendary creature and has every Shard become a copy of it until the next end step. The 99 is built to feed that loop: cheap blink (Ephemerate, Cloudshift, Soulherder, Displacer Kitten), trigger doublers (Starfield Vocalist), token doublers (Exalted Sunborn, Ocelot Pride), and copy-worthy bodies (Battle Angels of Tyr, Signal Pest, Inkmoth Nexus). Primary wins are a single enormous combat-melee from Skyhunter Strike Force, battle cry, myriad Angels, or a discounted Ancient Stone Idol-or decking out with Laboratory Maniac after blink-draw engines empty the library. Niko is the unique shard factory and copy outlet, but the list still functions as a flicker-ETB value deck with clones and beaters if he is delayed. Recasting him at six mana is realistic off the rock suite.
