Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Sultai big-mana midrange strategy commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The primary game plan focuses on deploying early mana acceleration to cast Zaxara ahead of curve on Turn 3 or 4. Once active, Zaxara acts as both a ramp piece and a continuous token generator, creating large Hydra tokens whenever an X-cost spell is cast. The deck scales rapidly through counter doublers such as Branching Evolution, Doubling Season, and Kalonian Hydra, alongside explosive mana engines like Gaea's Cradle, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, and Unbound Flourishing. Victory is achieved by overwhelming the table on Turn 6 with massive trample and unblockable combat damage via Finale of Devastation or Herald of Secret Streams, or by channeling enormous mana into table-wide drain spells like Torment of Hailfire. While vulnerable to well-timed board wipes, the deck maintains high individual threat density.
