Black Cat, Cunning Thief - Don't Die Over Petty Change by user4832096

Format: Commander

Commander: Black Cat, Cunning Thief

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Black Cat, Cunning Thief is the face of a mono-black theft-control deck. The primary plan is to put Black Cat on the battlefield early, exile the top nine cards of an opponent's library, and then reuse that effect with flicker effects, copy artifacts, and creature type doublers. Secondary paths include Gix and Brainstealer Dragon as alternate exile engines, targeted land destruction to choke opponents, and a Villain package (Doom Reigns Supreme, Thunderbolts Conspiracy) that turns deaths into value. The commander is both the earliest and most repeatable theft source; Gonti acts as a smaller hidden commander with the same role. Without a discrete combo, wins come from casting stolen cards, generating card advantage, and finishing with Brainstealer Dragon's drain plus combat.
