Deck overview

Kros, Defense Contractor is a goad-and-proliferate control deck. The commander's upkeep shield counter (plus counter-donation like Evolutionary Escalation and Gluntch) taps and goads opponents' creatures, turning their boards into beaters that attack away from you. Around this, a counter shell uses Denry Klin, Editor in Chief, Cathars' Crusade, support effects, and proliferate (Ezuri, Inexorable Tide, Evolution Sage) to grow evasive attackers into a combat finish. Denry is effectively the hidden commander: it copies its counters onto every nontoken creature, multiplying the pump payoff. Kros himself is not the main finisher; he is a source of goad, card draw via Generous Patron, and shield-provided protection. The deck closes by grinding value and landing one large unblockable or evasive swing after taxing the table.
