Deck overview

This Simic Merfolk deck commands a synergistic tribal engine led by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The primary strategy focuses on curving out efficient Merfolk creatures, utilizing Kumena and Hakbal of the Surging Soul to generate steady card advantage and distribute +1/+1 counters across the board. By turning small utility creatures into formidable threats, the deck builds a wide, resilient army while maintaining counterspell and protection backup. Evasion enablers like Herald of Secret Streams, Master of the Pearl Trident, and Mist Dancer ensure that accumulated power translates directly into lethal unblockable combat damage. Meanwhile, token engines such as Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage rebuild board presence quickly after removal. With protective spells like Ripples of Potential and Inspiring Call, the deck defends its creature investment against sweepers. It operates as an aggressive midrange deck that smoothly pivots between engine development, reactive disruption, and decisive multi-combat finishes.
