Sauron 08.13.2026

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Grixis deck is a Sauron value-reanimation build built around the Ring-tempt package. The primary plan is to resolve Sauron, turn every cheap Ring trigger into a discard-your-hand-and-draw-four refill, and convert discarded cards into zombies, mana, and reanimation fuel with Bone Miser, Monument to Endurance, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Currency Converter. Secondary paths are the Nazgul/Wraith counter swarm and the "There and Back Again" Smaug token plus hasty reanimated threats. With no infinite combo and no true second commander face, the hidden subplan is the nine Nazgul package and In the Darkness Bind Them as a one-turn stolen-board finish. Sauron matters as the draw engine, but the reanimation shell can function without him for a while.
