Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos treasure-matters deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, a 7-mana 8/7 with flying, indestructible, and haste that creates Treasure tokens whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The primary game plan is to deploy Smaug, then use repeatable damage sources like Pyrohemia to trigger his ability, multiplying the Treasures with Xorn or Academy Manufactor to generate infinite mana and/or infinite damage. The deck is packed with treasure synergies, token doublers, and drain payoffs such as Mayhem Devil, Marionette Master, and Revel in Riches. Secondary win conditions include commander damage via Nettlecyst-boosted Smaug, Torment of Hailfire, Crackle with Power, and the alternate win condition Revel in Riches. The deck is a high-synergy combo engine that aims to assemble its infinite loop as early as turn 6.
