Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is a Zombie tribal and aristocrat engine led by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary strategy focuses on deploying resilient Zombie creatures and high-power fodder early, then resolving Gisa to sacrifice them for massive waves of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Anthem lords like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Lord of the Accursed turn these tokens into lethal, evasive attackers, while aristocrat payoffs such as Ayara, First of Locthwain, Bastion of Remembrance, and Vengeful Dead convert creature deaths into direct life drain. Heavy draw engines like Cryptbreaker, Undead Augur, and Skullclamp ensure a steady stream of resources, while reanimation spells like Victimize and Zombie Apocalypse provide resilience against board wipes. Lacking fast combo kills, the deck wins through scaling combat damage and explosive devotion drains with Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
