Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Dragon combat deck built around Xenagos, God of Revels. Its normal plan is to develop lands and ramp, cast Xenagos, God of Revels, then deploy a large Dragon with haste and doubled power. Atarka, World Render is the clearest pressure piece: it can attack as a 12-power creature with double strike and deal 24 damage immediately. Dragon Tempest, Terror of the Peaks, Scourge of Valkas, and Twinflame Tyrant can turn later Dragon entries into additional damage. The deck also has strong high-end draw through Rishkar's Expertise, Return of the Wildspeaker, Elemental Bond, and Garruk's Uprising. Its main limits are slow assembly, singleton access, limited protection, and almost no stack interaction. It is powerful when it curves into a Dragon, but it is not a reliable fast-combo or competitive-control deck. Its ordinary win clock is a multi-turn combat sequence rather than a same-turn table kill.
