Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers on Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin and an extensive suite of low-cost cast- and draw-pingers. The game plan focuses on deploying a pinger such as Firebrand Archer or Kessig Flamebreather early, followed by casting Ob Nixilis. Every noncreature spell or opponent draw trigger deals exactly 1 damage to each opponent, causing Ob Nixilis to trigger repeatedly, exiling cards from the top of the library to play. Fueled by efficient rituals like Dark Ritual, Rite of Flame, and Jeska's Will, the deck chains through its library, accumulating massive +1/+1 counters on the commander while burning the entire table in a single explosive storm turn. Backup lines leverage Underworld Dreams and Teferi's Puzzle Box or Underworld Breach recursion to ensure lethal burn even without the commander.
