Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines go-wide creature token generation with high-impact spellslinging powered by its commander, Witherbloom, the Balancer. Early turns focus on flooding the battlefield with mana dorks, Saprolings, Pests, and Squirrel tokens using engines like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Bitterbloom Bearer, and Awaken the Woods. Once a wide board is established, the commander enters for as little as two mana, granting affinity for creatures to all instants and sorceries in your hand. This cost reduction turns massive X-spells and high-cost sorceries into cheap, game-ending plays. You can draw full grips with Shamanic Revelation, drain the table with Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire, or execute a lethal overrun with Finale of Devastation. Aristocrat pieces like Mirkwood Bats and Blood Artist provide steady life drain and secondary win lines, while selective protection cards safeguard your decisive turns against opposing removal.
