Deck overview

This Simic deck focuses on self-mill and Frog tribal synergies led by Grolnok, the Omnivore. Early turns establish mana acceleration using cheap mana dorks, land-ramp spells, and artifacts. Once Grolnok enters the battlefield, attacking with Frogs and activating mill engines exiles permanent cards from the library with croak counters, turning exile into a second hand. Massive mill spells like Traumatize and Cut Your Losses quickly mill dozens of cards, finding extra land drops and cost-reduced spells through Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius and Savvy Trader. The primary win route empties the library and casts Thassa's Oracle, Laboratory Maniac, or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries for an instant victory. The deck features strong resilience because croak counters stay on exiled cards even if Grolnok leaves the battlefield, allowing the pilot to pick up the engine immediately upon recasting the commander.
