Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari graveyard-midrange aristocrats deck helmed by Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm. The plan mills and self-discards to stock the graveyard, then converts that stock into repeated death triggers, recursion, and drain. Early dorks and rocks accelerate into engines like Meren of Clan Nel Toth, Skullclamp, and sac outlets (Ashnod's Altar, Viscera Seer), while creature tutors (Fauna Shaman, Birthing Pod, Fiend Artisan) assemble the drain package (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim). The front-face Grist is a cheap deathtouch body that flips into a planeswalker whenever you reanimate or cast from the graveyard, supplying tokens, removal, and a mass-token ultimate. Secondary paths include Living Death, big Gray Merchant of Asphodel swings, and Grist, the Hunger Tide's life-loss ultimate. The deck wins through attrition and inevitability rather than a single explosive turn.
