Deck overview

This mono-black attrition deck focuses on depleting opponent resources through symmetrical discard effects while punishing card loss with life drain. Commanded by Kuroki, Thief of Talents, the deck operates independently of its commander, relying on a dense suite of enchantments like Bottomless Pit, Oppression, and Painful Quandary to strip opposing hands. Once opponents are topdecking, punishers such as Liliana's Caress, Megrim, Court of Ambition, and Tinybones, Trinket Thief steadily whittle down life totals. Mana acceleration from Crypt Ghast, Cabal Coffers, and Bubbling Muck fuels late-game finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. While the deck excels at suppressing creature-based strategies and choking hand sizes, it lacks stack interaction and artifact removal, leaving it vulnerable to fast combo decks and artifact-centric engines that bypass the graveyard.
