Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Built around Smaug the Impenetrable, this BR deck turns its indestructible commander into a Treasures engine: any noncombat damage dealt to Smaug creates a matching number of Treasures. The primary plan is to cast Smaug by turn 4-5, then hit it with one-shot damage from Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction, producing a huge Treasure burst. That burst is converted into a kill with X-spells like Crackle with Power, Treasure-sacrifice drain from Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, Marionette Apprentice, or Mayhem Devil, or an upkeep win from Revel in Riches. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a hidden backup commander, while Descent into Avernus, Goldspan Dragon, and Alchemist's Talent multiply the Treasure value.
