Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck is a classic Mardu Aikido and political control strategy designed to turn opponents' aggression and high-powered plays against them. Instead of racing to assemble a proactive combo, the deck sets up defensive rattlesnakes, taxes, and card-draw engines like Queen Marchesa and Breena, the Demagogue. It uses pillowfort cards such as Ghostly Prison and forced combat spells like Disrupt Decorum and Kardur, Doomscourge to steer opposing threats into one another. When an opponent attempts a decisive attack or casts a massive spell, the deck punishes them with devastating instant-speed redirects including Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, Comeuppance, and Backlash. Sunforger acts as the deck's primary engine, repeatedly tutoring whatever silver-bullet answer or protection spell is required. Once opponents have exhausted their life totals and resources, the deck finishes the game with an overwhelming swarm of flying Inkling tokens or burst damage from Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Brash Taunter.
