Deck overview

This Gruul deck is led by Aerid Konstrari, a flying commander that creates Heartwood mana tokens on entry, death, and activation. The game plan leverages dense 1-mana and 2-mana ramp to deploy Aerid by Turn 3. Once established, the deck converts artifact tokens (Heartwoods, Treasures, Food, and Clues) into explosive combat pressure. Equipment like The Reaver Cleaver, Nettlecyst, and Genji Glove rapidly inflate Aerid's power or grant extra combat phases, threatening lethal commander damage. Secondary threats such as Smaug the Magnificent and Roxanne, Starfall Savant ensure that the deck maintains offensive momentum even if the commander is removed. Efficient protection spells shield the board from interaction, enabling a direct combat victory around Turn 7.
