Deck overview

This Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck executes a disciplined Poison and Proliferate midrange strategy. Rather than grinding through 120 combined opponent life points, the deck introduces initial poison counters through cheap toxic and infect creatures—such as Glistener Elf and Blighted Agent—or global spells like Prologue to Phyresis and Ichor Rats. Once every opponent is marked with poison, Atraxa enters from the command zone on Turn 4 to initiate recurring proliferation during each end step. Supported by compounding combat proliferators such as Bloated Contaminator and velocity spells like Tezzeret's Gambit, the poison counters tick upward symmetrically across the table, establishing critical onset by Turn 5 and closing out the game on Turn 7. The list is shielded by high-efficiency free interaction, including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Flawless Maneuver. However, with an unusually dense 46-land count, minimal ramp acceleration, and zero universal tutors, the deck trades blistering early velocity for unwavering mana consistency and resilient board development.
