Deck overview

This Dimir deck focuses on milling all players and reanimating high-impact sea monsters and even-cost creatures. Commanded by Gyruda, Doom of Depths, the deck relies on casting its commander on Turn 6 to trigger a burst of mill and cheat a large threat directly into play. Secondary payoffs include Runo Stromkirk, which transforms into Krothuss to duplicate attacking Horrors and Krakens, and mill-scaling threats such as Guiltfeeder and Nemesis of Reason. The deck also includes a land-based threat package featuring Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage to generate a 20/20 Marit Lage token. Because the list runs 37 lands with minimal ramp under 3 CMC, it plays strictly on curve and builds its battlefield presence through natural progression. Without compact infinite combos or heavy protection, the deck seeks to overwhelm the table through recurring graveyard theft and sustained combat damage.
