Y'shtola, Night's Blessed helms an Esper control deck built around incremental life drain, mill attrition, and pillowfort defenses. The strategy converts noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater into simultaneous board-wide life loss and life gain, regularly triggering Y'shtola to draw additional cards on any player's turn where life totals drop significantly. The primary win condition is the infinite mill and life drain combo of Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank, which eliminates all opponents when triggered.
