Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger Combo strategy helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana to cast the color-intensive commander, then enchanting it with Curiosity or Ophidian Eye. Because Niv-Mizzet, Parun cannot be countered and draws whenever any player casts an instant or sorcery, it controls the board while threatening a game-ending damage loop. Once the Aura attaches, any card draw initiates a chain reaction: drawing triggers Niv-Mizzet to deal 1 damage to an opponent, which triggers the Aura to draw another card, repeating until all three opponents are eliminated. Symmetrical wheel effects like Jace's Archivist, Magus of the Wheel, and Game Plan dig aggressively toward combo pieces while The Locust God and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind provide robust backup win conditions. A rich interaction suite featuring Counterflux, Bolt Bend, and March of Swirling Mist ensures the commander remains protected during the winning turn.
