Deck overview

This Abzan deck weaponizes high-toughness creatures by converting defensive statistics into offensive combat power. Led by partner commanders Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa and Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper, the deck circumvents opposing blockers by keeping baseline power at or below two while assigning combat damage via toughness through cards like Assault Formation, Huatli, the Sun's Heart, and Bedrock Tortoise. Sidar Kondo renders ground armies unable to block your attackers, while Ikra Shidiqi generates massive life buffers upon damage connection. The game plan focuses on establishing a dense wall-based board state in the opening turns, deploying an asymmetric power-to-toughness converter, and applying persistent unblockable pressure. While highly resilient in ground combat and capable of running one-sided sweepers like Slaughter the Strong, the deck relies primarily on fair combat damage, making it susceptible to flying blockers, repeated board wipes, and faster combo decks.
